Can you decoupage paper onto fabric that has been decoupaged onto canvas?

I have decoupaged fabric onto a canvas with Mod Podge for fabric. I would like to decoupage some photo reprints onto the decoupaged fabric. Is that possible? I have already put one coat of Poly on top, but just got this idea. I assume I should lightly sand the poly finish on the fabric on the canvas, then decoupage the paper onto it with Mod Podge for paper. Help!
